The Greensboro Science Center’s Creative Services internship focus on marketing and communications or exhibits and design. Interns will assist the Creative Services team in both internal and external projects. Interns can expect to learn communication and design strategies crafted specifically for a variety of diverse audiences in a non-profit setting.

What would I be doing as an Creative Services Intern?
Develop compelling content using information learned from internal GSC communications meetings.
Analyze social media metrics, and update goals and strategy accordingly.
Participate in media visits/events and track media mentions.
Review advertising plan and associated creative; update as needed to improve results.
What would my schedule be like?
Creative Services Interns should plan on committing 10-15 hours per week with a flexible workweek schedule. A minimum of 120 hours is required during that time frame for the successful completion of a Creative Services internship. Please note that in order to receive credit as a GSC intern, you must complete that number of hours regardless of any school or program requirements which may be less than that.

What is the GSC looking for in an intern?
Interns must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently
Interns must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Interns must be able to work in a variety of environments – from an office to a barn
Interns must be detail-oriented, excellent listeners who can abide by rules and protocols for their own safety as well as the safety of the GSC’s guests and animals
Interns must complete all intern paperwork and pass a background check
Ideal candidates must have college-level schooling in marketing, public relations or communications
