The Greensboro Science Center offers a 2 or 4-week externship program in exotic medicine for vet students enrolled in and in good standing in their 4th year studying veterinary medicine. Student applicants should have a strong interest in exotic, zoological, aquarium, and/or conservation medicine. The GSC follows the NCSU Veterinary Medicine Calendar and will add blocks when that schedule becomes available. Proof of a negative tuberculin skin test within 6 months of the start date is required. Excellent work ethic, communication skills, and a positive team-oriented attitude are expected. Externs are responsible for finding their own housing and transportation for the duration of the externship. The externship is unpaid and comes with no promise of future employment.
