Where Conservation Takes Flight
Cole Family Monarch Conservation Center & Butterfly House
Thank you to everyone who visited the Cole Family Monarch Conservation Center & Butterfly House during the 2025 season! 🦋
Step inside and surround yourself with the beauty of native species as you discover how conservation begins right at home, from planting milkweed and native wildflowers to creating pollinator-friendly spaces that help butterflies thrive.
The Greensboro Science Center is dedicated to protecting monarchs and other pollinators through conservation, education, and action. Each visit to the Butterfly House inspires our community to join in the protection of these beautiful creatures.
You can take action at home, too:
• Plant native flowers, especially milkweed, to support monarch caterpillars and butterflies.
• Let the flowers grow; even a small patch of tall grass can become a pollinator haven.
• Reduce pesticides and remove invasive plants to create safe, healthy habitats.
Want to do even more? Join community science projects like Journey North, Monarch Watch, or the Butterfly Highway to help track and protect pollinators across North Carolina and beyond.
