From November 19, 2025, to January 4, 2026, the Greensboro Science Center will shine with over a million twinkling holiday lights across our zoo, aquarium, and museum. From November 19, 2025, to January 4, 2026, our aquarium, museum, and zoo will glow with over a million twinkling holiday lights.
Now in its 6th year, Winter Wonderlights is featuring glowing tunnels, festive photo ops, indoor sock skating, snow machines, seasonal treats, and new surprises for 2025. You’ll see handmade paper lanterns inspired by animals from the Biodome and step into the Merry Mermaid Grotto inside our Wiseman Aquarium. Don’t miss the holiday tradition everyone’s talking about!
Jingle Brew

Jingle Brew returns November 14, 2025, for your exclusive first look at Winter Wonderlights before it opens to the public. Sip craft beer and cider from local favorites, including Bull City Ciderworks, Fiddlin’ Fish Brewing Company, Forgotten Road Ales, Hidden Gate Brewing Company, Oden Brewing Company, Pig Pounder Brewery, and SouthEnd Brewing Co., while you stroll through over a million twinkling holiday lights.
Winter Wonderlights FAQs
Yes, we will allow you to enter at a later time. Please plan to check in no more than 5 – 10 minutes before your scheduled time. This will create a more enjoyable time for all of our guests by minimizing wait times and maximizing views and experiences.
Yes, tickets can be purchased on site, but online purchases are strongly encouraged for a seamless and efficient check-in experience. Ticket sales end two hours before closing.
The following discounts are available:
• Groups of 15+ paying individuals receive our discounted group admission rate.
• GSC members receive discounted admission (please log in to receive discounted tickets). Reciprocal memberships and SNAP/EBT discounts cannot be used on Winter Wonderlights admission.
A limited number of wheelchairs are available to guests for use on a first-come, first-served basis. A photo ID is required for wheelchair check-out. Because we cannot guarantee wheelchair availability, nor place holds on wheelchairs, we ask that you bring your own wheelchair if possible.
This is a rain or shine event. If the event is cancelled by the Greensboro Science Center due to extreme weather causing unsafe conditions, power outage, etc, an alternative date will be offered. Refunds will not be given. If you are unable to attend, please consider your admission a donation to the Greensboro Science Center.
Animals will not be on exhibit during this event.
Outside food and drinks are not permitted. Food and drink will be available for purchase throughout the event. On site food options include Meerkat Café food tents, featuring hot cocoa, apple cider and cookies.
Yes, please see a guest services associate to receive a hand stamp to show upon reentry.

Yes! This event is strictly a 21+ event!
Yes! There will be kiosks in the upper and lower plaza of the zoo to purchase drink tickets for $5.
Parking is available free of charge on a first come, first served basis. Carpooling is encouraged and appreciated! Also consider Lyft or Uber for safe commuting after the event.
